01Our Commitment
Families turn to BeyondWallsPay at a stressful, vulnerable moment. We are committed to operating lawfully, transparently, and in a way that protects families from confusion and fraud. This Policy summarizes the principal compliance commitments that govern our Services and works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
02Our Role: Finder and Directory, Not a Money Transmitter
BeyondWallsPay is an information, search, and referral service. We help you locate a loved one in a participating county jail and identify the official, licensed providers and verified steps needed to support them.
We never take custody of, hold, transmit, or process your funds. When you send money for commissary or phone service, you transact directly with the facility’s official, licensed provider on that provider’s own system. Because we do not handle customer funds, we do not act as a bank, money transmitter, or money services business. We continue to monitor our practices so that this remains true as our Services grow.
03Official Provider Standard
We direct families only to the facility’s official, licensed providers — never to lookalike sites or unlicensed intermediaries. We work to verify the correct provider for each facility we cover and to present accurate deposit steps, so that your money reaches the right place.
04Anti-Fraud and Consumer Protection
Predatory and lookalike payment sites target families of incarcerated people. We design the Services to reduce that risk: we will never ask you to send money to BeyondWallsPay, we route you to official providers, and we surface verified information. If you encounter a suspected scam or an incorrect listing, please report it to us.
05Bail Bond Referrals
Where available, BWP+ may refer you to bail bond agents serving the relevant county. These are referrals and advertising only. BeyondWallsPay is not a bail bond company and does not provide bail or surety services. Referred agents are independently licensed and responsible for their own services, pricing, and compliance with applicable state bail and advertising laws. A referral is not a recommendation, guarantee, or legal advice.
06Attorney Referrals
Where available, BWP+ may provide attorney referrals based on county and charge type. These are referrals and advertising only. BeyondWallsPay is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or representation, and no attorney-client relationship is formed with us. Referred attorneys are independently licensed and are solely responsible for their services and for compliance with the advertising and professional-conduct rules of their jurisdiction.
07Pulse AI Governance
Our Pulse help engine uses automated systems to provide general information about the Services and the support process. We design Pulse to be helpful and accurate, with human oversight of its content, but it is informational only and is not a substitute for professional advice. We are transparent that Pulse is automated and encourage families to verify important details with official sources.
08Communications and Messaging Compliance
Our alerts and messages are consent-based. We send text messages only to people who opt in, we identify ourselves, we provide clear opt-out instructions, and we honor STOP requests promptly. We follow applicable telephone and text-messaging laws and the industry registration requirements for application-to-person messaging.
09Data Protection and Privacy
We practice data minimization — collecting only what is needed to provide the Services — and we apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. We do not sell personal information. We honor privacy rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and other applicable laws, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
10Accessibility and Language Access
We strive to make the Services usable by everyone, including people with disabilities, and we work toward conformance with recognized accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA). The Services are fully available in English and Spanish so that more families can get help in the language they are most comfortable using.
11Lawful Use and Records Sourcing
The Services rely on official provider data and public records about people in custody. This information must be used only for lawful, supportive purposes. Using the Services to harass, defraud, surveil, or harm an incarcerated person or anyone else is prohibited and may result in termination and referral to authorities. We treat people in custody and their families with dignity and respect.
12Reporting Concerns
If you have a compliance concern — for example, a suspected scam, an incorrect official-provider listing, or a question about a referral — please contact us so we can investigate and correct it.
13Updates to This Policy
We may update this Compliance Policy as our Services and the law evolve. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
